“Our Identity”

Ephesians 1:1-3 This letter is from Paul, chosen by the will of God to be an apostle of Christ Jesus.  I am writing to God’s holy people in Ephesus, who are faithful followers of Christ Jesus.2 May God our Father and the Lord Jesus Christ give you grace and peace. 3 All praise to God, the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who has blessed us with every spiritual blessing in the heavenly realms because we are united with Christ.


I. Recognize Your Identity in Jesus Christ vs1
This letter is from Paul, chosen by the will of God to be an apostle of Christ Jesus.  I am writing to God’s holy people in Ephesus, who are faithful followers of Christ Jesus.


The Greek word here is hagios which means sacred or Holy.

2 Peter 1:4  …you may be partakers of the divine nature, having escaped the corruption that is in the world through lust. (NKJV)

II.  Rejoice in the One Who Gives you your Identity
2 May God our Father and the Lord Jesus Christ give you grace and peace.

2 Peter 1:2-4 May God give you more and more grace and peace as you grow in your knowledge of God and Jesus our Lord. 3 By his divine power, God has given us everything we need for living a godly life. We have received all of this by coming to know him, the one who called us to himself by means of his marvelous glory and excellence. 4 And because of his glory and excellence, he has given us great and precious promises. These are the promises that enable you to share his divine nature and escape the world’s corruption caused by human desires.

III.  Realize the Blessings of your Identity
3 All praise to God, the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who has blessed us with every spiritual blessing in the heavenly realms because we are united with Christ.
