Discipled by Jesus
Do you see what I have done for you? 

John 13:12 When he had finished washing their feet, he put on his clothes and returned to his place. “Do you understand what I have done for you?” he asked them. 13 “You call me ‘Teacher’ and ‘Lord,’ and rightly so, for that is what I am. 14 Now that I, your Lord and Teacher, have washed your feet, you also should wash one another’s feet. 15 I have set you an example that you should do as I have done for you. 16 Very truly I tell you, no servant is greater than his master, nor is a messenger greater than the one who sent him. 17 Now that you know these things, you will be blessed if you do them.

“Do you understand what I have done for you?” John 13:12

 “You call Me ‘Teacher’ and ‘Lord,’ and rightly so, for that is what I am.  Now that I, your Lord and Teacher, have washed your feet, you also should wash one another’s feet.  I have set an example that you should do as I have done for you.” John 13:13-15

8 Finally, brothers and sisters, whatever is true, whatever is noble, whatever is right, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is admirable—if anything is excellent or praiseworthy—think about such things. 9 Whatever you have learned or received or heard from me, or seen in me—put it into practice. And the God of peace will be with you. Phil 4:8-9

Seeing What The Lord Has Done
James 1:17, “Every good and perfect gift comes down from the Father of heavenly lights …”  

Hunting for What The Lord Has Done

Every good and perfect gift is from above, coming down from the Father of the heavenly lights, who does not change like shifting shadows. James 1:17


.  So, we are committed to constantly – wherever we are, whoever we are with –  hunting for something good and perfect.  Why?  Because we want to see Jesus …
  in every person I meet (Jesus has something to do with any goodness I find in people)
  in every circumstance I am in (Jesus is present and promised to bring good in every circumstance because I love Him) Romans 8:28
       in everything I think and want (Jesus’ Spirit is always at work in my heart)
       in everything I say and do (Jesus’ Spirit intends to helpfully partner with me to work through me).


Testing for What The Lord Has Done

Do not quench the Spirit. 20 Do not treat prophecies with contempt 21 but test them all; hold on to what is good, 22 reject every kind of evil. 1 Thessalonians 5:19-22


Give thanks for What The Lord Has Done


“For even though they knew God, they did not honor Him as God or give thanks, but they became futile in their speculations, and their foolish heart was darkened.” Romans 1:21


Report What The Lord Has Done

“When the apostles returned, they reported to Jesus what they had done.”  Luke 9:10  

The apostles gathered around Jesus and reported to Him all they had done and taught.”  Mark 6:30

Therefore, we must create environments, methods, and strategies to give reports concerning those issues for which we will give an ultimate account.  This must be done, regardless of the cost.  We will ultimately account for … our relationship with Jesus, or lack thereof, including our acts and words, attitudes and motives.          
These impact all our relationships, identified below.
       our relationships with and ministry to our family
        our relationships with and ministry to our church family
       our relationships with and ministry to our lost neighbors.

 It is Jesus who is asking us, “Do you understand what I, Jesus, have done?”

 “Follow my example as I follow the example of Christ” 1 Cor 11:1
“Paul greeted them and reported in detail what God had done among the Gentiles through his ministry.”  Acts 21:19  
“I will not venture to speak of anything except what Christ has accomplished through me in leading the Gentiles to obey God by what I have said and done— “Romans 15:18
“On arriving there, they gathered the church together and reported all that God had done through them and how He had opened the door of faith to the Gentiles.”  Acts 14:27
  “When they came to Jerusalem, they were welcomed by the church and the apostles and elders, to whom they reported everything God had done through them.”  Acts 15:4

So what are some things we can report?
       progress in awareness of Jesus
        progress in dialogue with Jesus
        progress in joy, prayer, and thankfulness
       progress in faith
        progress in bringing every thought captive into obedience to Christ
        progress in selfless, Christlike motives and attitudes
        progress in godly values and desires

“… we cannot help speaking about what we have seen and heard.” Acts 4:20

 They triumphed over him by the blood of the Lamb and by the word of their testimony; they did not love their lives so much as to shrink from death. Revelation 12:11

This just shows how important us answering that question is, The testimony is… what Jesus has done.
