S-Story

Revelation 12:11a And they have defeated him by the blood of the Lamb and by their testimony…
1. How to Present His Story
What we need to know to share:
A. About God
1. He is loving-
John 3:16-17 16 “For this is how God loved the world: He gave his one and only Son, so that everyone who believes in him will not perish but have eternal life. 17 God sent his Son into the world not to judge the world, but to save the world through him.

Romans 5:8 But God showed his great love for us by sending Christ to die for us while we were still sinners.

     2. He is Holy
Isaiah 59:2-3 It’s your sins that have cut you off from God. Because of your sins, he has turned away and will not listen anymore. 3 Your hands are the hands of murderers, and your fingers are filthy with sin. Your lips are full of lies, and your mouth spews corruption.

3. He is Just
Romans 6:23 For the wages of sin is death, but the free gift of God is eternal life through Christ Jesus our Lord.

B. About us
1. We were born sinners
Romans 3:23 For everyone has sinned; we all fall short of God’s glorious standard.  We all are in need of a Savior.
2. We deserve the punishment
3. We are unable to fix it ourselves
Romans 7:18-20 And I know that nothing good lives in me, that is, in my sinful nature.[d] I want to do what is right, but I can’t. 19 I want to do what is good, but I don’t. I don’t want to do what is wrong, but I do it anyway. 20 But if I do what I don’t want to do, I am not really the one doing wrong; it is sin living in me that does it.

Ephesians 2:8-9 God saved you by his grace when you believed. And you can’t take credit for this; it is a gift from God. 9 Salvation is not a reward for the good things we have done, so none of us can boast about it.

C. About Jesus
1. He paid the debt for us that we could not pay.
1 Peter 2:24 He personally carried our sins in his body on the cross so that we can be dead to sin and live for what is right. By his wounds you are healed.

Jesus not only paid the debt we owed, but He made us free from sin, and made us able to live for God.

2. How to Present Your Story
So here’s how:
 A. Share your story before Christ
Ephesians 2:1-3 Once you were dead because of your disobedience and your many sins. 2 You used to live in sin, just like the rest of the world, obeying the devil the commander of the powers in the unseen world. He is the spirit at work in the hearts of those who refuse to obey God. 3 All of us used to live that way, following the passionate desires and inclinations of our sinful nature. By our very nature we were subject to God’s anger, just like everyone else.

B.   Share how of how you came to Christ:
a. All have sinned
b. Sin’s penalty
c. Christ paid the penalty
d. Must receive Christ

C.  Share your story after Christ:
2 Corinthians 5:17 This means that anyone who belongs to Christ has become a new person. The old life is gone; a new life has begun!

2 Corinthians 5:18-21 NLT
18 And all of this is a gift from God, who brought us back to himself through Christ. And God has given us this task of reconciling people to him. 19 For God was in Christ, reconciling the world to himself, no longer counting people’s sins against them. And he gave us this wonderful message of reconciliation. 20 So we are Christ’s ambassadors; God is making his appeal through us. We speak for Christ when we plead, “Come back to God!” 21 For God made Christ, who never sinned, to be the offering for our sin,[e] so that we could be made right with God through Christ.
