B-Begin with Prayer

1 Timothy 2:1-4
I urge you, first of all, to pray for all people. Ask God to help them; intercede on their behalf, and give thanks for them. 2 Pray this way for kings and all who are in authority so that we can live peaceful and quiet lives marked by godliness and dignity. 3 This is good and pleases God our Savior, 4 who wants everyone to be saved and to understand the truth.

Matthew 28:19-20 Therefore, go and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit. 20 Teach these new disciples to obey all the commands I have given you. And be sure of this: I am with you always, even to the end of the age.”

John 20:21 Again he said, “Peace be with you. As the Father has sent me, so I am sending you.”

I.  Who should we pray for???
 I urge you, first of all, to pray for all people. Vs 1a


II.  What should We pray for???
Ask God to help them.  Vs 1b

III.  Ways to pray for the lost:
Ask God to help them; intercede on their behalf, and give thanks for them. Vs 1c

1.  Petition (deeseis) prayer, request, or supplication
2.  Prayers (proseuchas) Worshipful prayer; pray earnestly
3. Intercessions (enteuxeis) an interview;
4. Thanksgiving (eucharistias) gratitude…. Grateful language to God…

IV. Why Pray???
